If you’ve found your way here, welcome! I’m Marnel Toerien, a Cape Town–based professional makeup and hair artist with over 15 years of experience and more than 400 weddings behind me. I specialize in airbrush wedding makeup - yes, it’s literally sprayed onto your skin for a flawless, natural, and long-lasting finish.

Weddings tug at my heartstrings and playing a part in your celebration brings me immense joy. I'm not just your makeup artist; I'm your steadfast support on, what can be, an intense day. Even in my personal life, I am the biggest cheerleader for my favourite people, thus my style exudes radiance-from-within, elevating all the features you love about yourself. Your comfort and confidence are my top priorities. Still you, but the 2.0 version.

For your trial, you will be invited to join me at my home studio nestled in an old, well-established neighbourhood in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town.

When I’m not with my brides, life is filled with dogs, cooking something lekker, coffee dates with my favourite humans, and the occasional “makeup shopping spree” (it’s a tax write-off, after all).

My husband and I eloped in New York in 2023 — he’s a musician by passion, an architect by profession - and “Mamma Arend” (aka Mother Eagle aka Mom) still tops my call log daily. And while Cape Town is my home, my heart belongs to France (Paris, specifically), with Scotland and New York coming in close. And yes, I would love to chat about any of your travels when we meet!

Over the years, my work has taken me to weddings both local and internation and I’ve been featured on Junebug Weddings, Green Wedding Shoes, The Pretty Blog, Confetti Daydreams, SouthBound Bride, Ruffled, Mooi Troues, SA Weddings and in publications such as Wedding Inspirations, Sarie Bride, and Hochzeitsguide as well as being names LuxLife’s top makeup artist in South Africa 2024. Whew!
